My house is a cozy family home in the beautiful harbor town of Sandefjord in southern Norway.
It is a one level house surrounded by a little garden with a sunny roof- terrace. The first floor includes two single bedrooms (both with double beds), a nice living room with a wood-burning stove, a kitchen with a dining area and a completely renovated bathroom with bath tub. From the living room leads a staircase to the attic that is furnished with an extra bedroom.
Pets OK, but please no cats (because of allergy).
Next to my house is a studio located which my youngest son uses. He is independent and will not be to any bother, if he stays at home and not traveling with us.
German family of three:
Christina, mum and doctor, working at a local physician office in Sandefjord. 2 boys, 18 and 23 years, the eldest living in Germany, the youngest still going to school. Our fourth “family member” is our little, cheerful dog, Chilli.
This year my children chose not to travel with their mother (amazingly enough), so I will travel with my boyfriend, Øystein.
It is a 15 min walk to the city center of Sandefjord, which is famous in summer with nice little shops, cafe's, lots of live music and a great view of the ocean. Countless beaches are in the nearest surrounding. The nearest by is a 25min ride by bike, most of the others a short car or public bus ride away. 5 min walk to the nearest park with tennis court and indoors swimming pool.
The public bus or train takes you to Oslo hourly; a trip of appr. 2h or you can take the ferry leaving from the city center to Sweden and visit charming Gothenburg on a day trip. Torp airport is just 20min car ride (or 5min by train) away.
The area is perfect for hikes in beautifully nature, all kind of water sports as well as for cross country skiing in winter. The prepared trails are starting a couple of min away from my house. The next downhill resort is an hour away by car.
