Our home

Our cosy and modern home is located in a unique part of Oslo called Nordstrand, close to the city centre by bus (15 min) or local train (10 min), a short walk from the fjord (15 min) and 2 min from an alpine skiing slope by foot. This is an established, well-kept and safe area with friendly neighbours, of which mostly families. We have close access to public transport such as the bus and local train, which take us to the city centre within 10-15 min. The house is 155 m2 across 3 stores, and has a jacuzzi for 6 people outdoors in the garden, which is fantastic especially in the winter time in the crisp clear air. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs, and an extra living room in the basement with a bed sofa and an extra bed, in addition to a large bathroom with shower. From the house, there is a 5 km walking track along the river and fjord, with an award-winning cafe along the way. In addition to alpine skiing nearby, you can do cross-country skiing within 5 min driving, and a natural skating ice just 2 min away. Perfect for outdoor time and activity. In all, this house provides a great balance between city life and a more countryside feel.

Oslo has been in international press multiple times as an upcoming city in Europe

A Peugeot 5008 (up to 7 seats) would as well be available during the exchange.

We are looking primarily for a home exchange for Christmas 2019-2020 in Sydney Australia or in the USA (west or east cost) since these are our dream destinations. Any requests which are out of our dream destinations will be evaluated and answered if it is interesting enough.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Ljan-Nordstrand is a calm and well-established neighbourhood surrounded by a lot of nature. Close walking distance to the groceries shops and public transport such as local train, bus and tram to the city centre. A local alpine skiing hill, most suited for kids, is walking distance (200m). Cross country possibilities nearby, as well as ice skating. A great mix between being so close to Oslo city centre, yet living in a rural environment near the forest, sea and river. There is a shopping centre, Lambertseter Centre a 5 min drive away, in addiotion to shops and cafees/restaurants in Sæter close by.
