Our home

My home is located 3 km from the city of Hamar, 10 minutes by bus. It is a 13 year old house, in other words quite modern, and also quite roomy. The lot is about 500 sq.m. A garage is sitting close to the house. The kitchen is well equipped, and the two bathrooms are also quite large. There are three bedrooms and two sitting rooms, one upstairs and one downstairs. Both are fully equipped with stereo sets, one has TV and Internet connections. The furniture is more or less standard - couch, tables, chairs etc.

Who we are

  1. I am a professor emeritus of pedagogy. My age is 68, I have 2 children around 40 who live in Oslo with their families. I live by myself and so staying here for some days together with me may also be an option.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

The neighborhood is a suburban villa area with a view to the city of Hamar and to lake Mjosa, the largest lake in Norway. It is a very quiet area; the house is situated in a dead end street. Going by bus it is a 10 minute trip to the town or the lake. The lake is perfect for swimming in the summer and is also interesting for those who like to fish. The distance from Oslo is 110 kilometers - due south by E6. The distance to Lillehammer is 50 kilometers, E6, north. Train connections to the cities and the Oslo airport (Gardermoen) are excellent. Biking and hiking opportunities are rife during summer; during winter this is an excellent area for skiing. Hunting is possible during fall (moose, deer, grouse).
