Romantic, wooden house close to Oslo, forests and fjords

“We had a wonderful time in Anders and Johannes home. It is very cozy and well decorated, and the family gave us a warm welcome and even shared their cross-country skis and favourite spots with us, great. Everyone loved the comfy duvets! Thanks to Maja and Niels for sharing their rooms and toys with us. We especially enjoyed the view over Drammen and the fjord - and all the wintry things to do including lighting up the fireplace every night. Be aware that the driveway is steep and can be tricky in the winter.”

“My kids and I spent a great week at Johanne and Anders\'s home in Drammen in February. Their home was comfortable and inviting, and we felt warmly welcomed by all the family. The house is very charming and classically "Norwegian" with carved wooden trim along the roof, underfloor heating in the bathroom, and a treehouse for the kids out back. The location is good, convenient to central Drammen by bus or foot, and with excellent transport links to Oslo. Drammen turned out to be a very good base for local activities such as the enormous, free open-air ice-skating rink only 12-mins walk down the hill, and the world-renowned swimming pool complex right next to it. In addition to sightseeing in Oslo and Drammen, we also enjoyed downhill skiing at two different ski hills accessible both on public transport or by car. We would warmly recommend swapping with the Helgelunds, as we felt a real connection with the family. (They left everything neat as a pin when they left, with little messages to the kids around the house!)”

“Nous avons passé en couple un excellent séjour dans cette maison ancienne et charmante. Elle est dotée d'un joli jardin, dont nous n'avons malheureuement pas pu profiter, compte tenu d'une météo... nordique. C'est un bon lieu de départ pour visiter la belle ville d'Oslo et ses musées passionnants (facile communication par le train, en 30 minutes, ajouter le temps nécessaire pour se rendre de la maison à la gare par bus). Nous recommandons aussi la découverte de Bergen. Nous y avons consacré quatre jours, y compris une croisière à travers les fjords et la traversée des sublimes parcs nationaux. Merci à Anders et Johanne de cet échange réussi. J'ai cependant regretté que les photos promises de leur séjour dans mon riad ne m'aient toujours pas été transmises, près d'un an après, alors même qu'elles me seraient utiles pour mon site de location de mon riad. Cela donne l'impression qu'on se sert sans donner en retour, ce qui est désagréable dans le contexte d'un échange...”

“A great experience. We had a wonderful stay in Oslo. The house is nearby the Munch museum, metro, boat ferry and buses. Train and city centre 15-20 min walk. The house is very comfortable and cosy. We immediately felt at home. Nice neighbourhood, nearby popular and trendy Gronerlokka. We felt in love with Oslo! What a beautiful city! Lot of musea, parks, shops, cosy restaurants and the fjords. We did the train trip Oslo - Bergen and hiked 3 days in the Hardangervidda. What an adventure! Johanne and Anders gave us plenty information and Oslo tips and a warm welcome.
