Our home

Townhouse with garden located just outside Oslo. It has been rented out for many years, and we will redecorate some time in the near future. In the meantime it is a fully functional family home, but not luxurious. Three bedrooms, one is used as a study. The main bedroom is small, but with a very comfortable bed. Our daughter´s room sleeps two. There is a double bed sofa in the basement, a room that normally serves as play area for our daughter and her friends. One bathroom.

Who we are

We, Andreas and Kristin, are in our mid forties and have a daughter age 11. We enjoy spending time with friends, meeting new people, exploring, doing sports, listening to music, experiencing art and cooking - among other things. Andreas is an engineer, Kristin is working in media, currently mainly with documentary photography.
Due to allergy we can unfortunately not exchange if you have had pets in your home during the past 6 months. Neither can we host pets in our home.
We hope to do our first exchange this summer, preferably between Aug 2nd - 23, but we are open to any suggestions.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Snaroya / Fornebu - right outside Oslo, a quiet suburban neighbourhood by the sea. Five minutes walk to the beach, perfect for a morning swim in the summer or a walk in winter. Snorkeling gear and wetsuits available.

Sports arena / facilities (football / bandy court and swimming pool) 10 mins walk. Telenor Arena 15 mins walk, check the program for events and concerts, http://telenorarena.no

15 mins by ferry to Aker Brygge (centre of Oslo) or 30 mins by bus. Day trips to the small islands in the Oslo fjord is recommended.

15 mins by car to Holmenkollen / Nordmarka where you can ski in winter and hike in summer.

Approximately 2 hrs by car to the closest mountain, Norefjell. Add 1 to 2 hours of driving for a more challenging hike or beautiful scenery. Highly recommended. Check out The Norwegian Trekking Association´s (DNT) web pages for info: http://english.turistforeningen.no

10 mins walk to the grocery shop and a shopping mall with cafes and restaurants.
