Our home is avilable from the middle of June -11. We can do a non-simoultanious exchange. Our home is comfortable, clean and spacious. We love to invite friends over for a good time. In the winter we often sit in the jacuzzi outside, watching the polar light and the stars. In summertime we have the midnight sun accompaning us. The deck overlooks a privat back yard with a mountain- and fjord view. Our home is just a short walk from the centra of Alta (30 min walk - 15 min with bicycle). We have three boys who have toys, bikes and also a trampoline in the garden.
We are Terje (41) and Hege Sofie (38) and three boys of 12, 9 and 3 years old. We have not done home exchange before but are keen to try what sounds a great way to see and spend some time in another country. We would expect to arrange an exchange some way in advance in order to get to know our fellow exchangers via email first to see how we best can facilitate their stay in the far north of Norway. We love our country and are thrilled to let others get to know it, and we are really looking forward to see other places in our wonderfull world.
Alta is a 2 hour flight from Oslo, Gardermoen. Ideally located as a touring base in the county of Finnmark. Alta is a town with appx 17 000 inhabitans. From our house we have easy access to the sea, the famous salmon river "Altaelva", fishing in the lakes of the Finnmark mountain platou, the North Cape and enormous space to go for a hike in the wild nature. For a family, Alta and its environs, can invitite you to a spectacular time beyond anything you have experienced. Stone age rock-carvings, reindeer, huskies, the sami people, wonderful nature, cafees, bars, pubs, shops and so on. If you want to go to a place guaranteed a warm summer, this is NOT your kind of place! Of course we have warm summerdays, but they are not guaranteed! There's aprox 200km to the North Cape where Europe ends. This is a trip that you can make in one day, or even better, in two. Our home is in a quiet neighbourhood and street, safe for the children. It's not far to the grocery stores, and shopping centra. Here's a link for you to get more information about Alta: http://www.alta.kommune.no/index.php?cat=87174
