Our home

Our detached home has three bedrooms, two double and one single. We use the smallest room as an office but someone could sleep in it. We have one bathroom with shower and bath. We have an open plan living/dining room with decking overlooking our large garden. Cold nights are warmed with our wood burning fire. There is a private fenced in area with our own small swimming pool. We enjoy spending warm summer days relaxing by our pool while we barbeque our supper.

Property features

Who we are

  1. My name is Janet and my husband is Servaas. We are in our 30's with a baby daughter. My husband is Dutch and I am Scottish. We've lived in New Zealand for three years and love it here. I am an Art Teacher, currently at home with our baby, and Servaas is a nurse at our local hospital. We have lived and worked all over the world. We like living in Wanganui because it combines a thriving art community with easy access to outdoor sport - so we're both happy. Idealy we would like a long term exchange with someone in Holland, so we can spend time with our families and show off our baby!

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our home is on a quiet street at the edge of town. The centre is a ten minute drive away. We are surrounded by hills, half an hour from a national park and there is a beautiful river at the end of our street. We are two hours drive from Wellington, two hours to the nearest ski field and twenty minutes to the beach. There is a local airport with flights to all the main centres - 30 minutes to wellington. Our city has a thriving art community with many galleries and museums There are lots of sporting facilities - including two golf courses, river sports and good surfing. And, of course, there are plenty of excellent cafes.
