1906 wooden villa on a quiet street in a warm sunny leafy suburb of Wellington. Large sitting room with open fireplace, dining room, open plan kitchen with table for 4 which leads into sunny family room. The family/kitchen area opens onto paved outside area with table and chairs and pretty garden with flowers, pear, kauri and pohutukawa trees as well as a vegetable garden. We have 3 double bedrooms, one with a queen bed, the other with a double bed. The 3rd bedroom is currently used as a study but an extra bed can be provided. There are 2 bathrooms, 1 with a shower and bath, the 2nd with a shower. Additional accommodation is available by way of a small double bedroom flat above the garage at the front of the property. A nearby bird sanctuary attracts native birds to the pohutukawa tree in our fully fenced garden. If you wish we can provide a cleaner once a week.
We are a couple in our 50s with no children living at home and we have travelled extensively. I work as a Consular Officer for an Embassy in Wellington and my husband is a self employed consultant. We have not exchanged before but are looking forward to this new venture.
Our house is situated in the northern suburbs of Wellington. There are 2 supermarkets a short drive away and within walking distance there is a very popular cafe, butcher, pharmacy, corner store, library and park with playground facilities for children. There are some superb bush walks a few minutes from our home. We are 10 minutes drive to vibrant Wellington city by car, bus or train. Wellington is built round a beautiful harbour and is home to many theatres, galleries, restaurants/cafes, shops and a wonderful museum. The Wellington region offers recreational and sporting activities including mountain biking, trekking, fishing, roller blading, kayaking. The wine growing area of Martinborough is just over an hour's drive away. Our home is also a 5 minute drive from the Inter-Islander ferry terminal which will take you to the South Island. Wellington Airport is a 20 minute drive.
