Our home

Our home is a large, sunny, warm turn of the century villa. It has been fully renovated and is very spacious and comfortable. It has an open plan kitchen, dining and family room plus a separate lounge. There are 4 bedrooms, plus a study. There is one king sized bed, a queen, 2 singles and a cot. The house overlooks a park and the suburb. It is very private with a large well established garden. There is a sandpit and swing plus everything else that a baby and toddler requires. We are 5 mins drive into the central city (or 5 mins by bus), and 7 mins walk to Wellingtons beautiful harbour. We park on the street and there is always a park. (its free of charge)

Who we are

  1. We are Rachel and Jim and nearly in our 40's! We have two young children (aged 3 and 1). Jim runs a Public Relations company. I (Rachel) am only a few papers off completing a law degree but before I did that, I was a Social Worker, mainly with older people. Jim is orginally from Dundee in Scotland (not that we hold that against him!) and has family in Edinburgh who we would like to visit and because we are now a family of four, we can't stay too long (hence the need for a house swap).

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our suburb, Hataitai, is well established, family friendly and very near the city. It has a quaint village with lovely cafes and specialty shops. Its is ideally located for seeing all that Wellington has to offer. There are beautiful art gallerys, mueseums, great shopping, and a fabulous harbour. You can have an overnight (or day trip) to the South Island by ferry which travels through the majestic Marlborough Sounds. Wellington has many outdoor concerts and events during the summer months, particularly in January.
