Our home

Beautifully restored 1940's Art Deco two storey home. 4 bedrooms, large kitchen/dining room and warm, sunny lounge with a relaxing view of the hills. All day sun with a deck out the back enjoying morning sun until midday and a front deck that basks in afternoon sun until late evening. Beautiful, mature 100 year old trees attract many of our native birds to our large sheltered, fully fenced garden which also features a sandpit and tree-hut. Minutes to Wellington City by car, bus or train. Close to waterfront for restaurants, cafes, bars, recreation, walking, kayacking, cycling, rock-wall climbing, roller blading, swimming, museum, galleries etc. Wellington has more cafes and bars per capita than New York and we are renowned for our coffee! Wellington is also the hub of our Government and Parliament grounds. There are many other things to do depending on your interests. We are also a great base for catching the Interislander Ferry to the South Island - about 5 minutes drive from the ferry terminal and 20 minutes from Wellington Airport where an Airport Shuttle can transfer you to our house economically. We are also on a regular bus and train route into the city - the trip take about 10 minutes by public transport and the scenic route offer great views of bush, harbour and city.

Who we are

  1. We have cycle toured reasonably extensively in Europe and now have two children. We enjoy travelling, cycling, walking, sun and outdoors. We are always interested in a house exchange for 1 month plus though we are negotiable on the length of stay. We enjoyed some great home exchanges in July 2007 in France and Spain and are planning a longer trip around Europe in mid to late 2011 to coincide with the Rugby World Cup being hosted in New Zealand.
