Our home

This 1960's house has recently been renovated with the ensuite bedroom, and extra bedroom and bathroom added just last year. New carpets throughout except the lounge and kitchen which has polished wooden floors.

The house is situated on the beach road. Have drinks on our large deck, then pop over the road for a swim in the sea and pop back to shower off. Drop in on one of the many cafes or restaurants and watch the surf as you sup coffees.

The garden is great for kids with almost 900m2 total land area.

Who we are

  1. We are a family of 5. We have a 3 year old and 6 month old twins.

I am from Manchester and wish to have a break from paradise to return home to visit family. We hope to have a working holiday and stay for one year.

Before this time we would love to holiday for a week or two anytime in Aukland.

I used to be a virologist at St. Thomas' Hospital, London but am now a full time Mum (with overtime). My husband is a builder and is from Wanganui, New Zealand.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Waikanae beach has a couple of small shops and 4 bars/ cafes. This beach area is only 5 minutes drive away from waikanae village, with 2 supermarkets and a quaint village square with other local shops, cafes etc.

The two schools in Waikanae are excellent and have very good reputations. There are also lots of Pre-schools to choose from.

It is not difficult to get working visas for New Zealand. We are very short of proffessionals and especially short of Trades people. It took me only a few weeks to sort my visa when in the UK. Wellington city centre is only 40 minutes drive from Waikanae and, as with any capital city, has many work opportunities.

Waikanae is a very friendly place, it is difficult to go anywhere without seeing a face you recognise.

If you want more, drive down to Paraparaumu (15 minutes) and visit the large shopping Mall. Here there is large choice of restaurants and cafes and playgrounds for the kids. Paraparaumu beach has a great nightlife as does Raumati Beach 5 minutes along the coast.
