Our home

Our 3 bedroom cedar clad home sits at the top of an estuary in the Tauranga harbour. The harbour and the open sea can be accessed from the bottom of the garden when the tide is right. Our views are of the estuary entrance, a peep of the harbour, native trees and our launching ramp. The house faces north and gets all day sun. We BBQ all summer on our deck and listen to the Tui and watch the native pigeon, ducks and pukeko in the garden below. Our Japanese zigzag bridge gets you across our pond to the garden patio and cape cod chairs. The house is a pole house with double garage, office, man cave and spare room at ground level and the living area above.

Who we are

  1. David is a retired property valuer. Sue is a school teacher and both are very experienced gardeners and animal lovers. We have lived in Australia, Fiji, Japan, Egypt and China.
We have house sat in New Zealand, Australia and Thailand. We have done a home exchange with a French family in French Polynesia.
We have excellent house sitting references.
Here is a copy of one from Australia:
"Thank you so much for the wonderful way you
both took care of my home while I visited Europe
    for 6 weeks.
It was reassuring to know everything was in good hands while I was away and it was a pleasure to come back to a clean house.
I was also grateful that David contacted the insurance and cleaned up my broken pot plants after a heavy storm hit my house.
Most importantly, I appreciated you taking such good care of my little Westie, Bolli. She was happy and healthy and I am sure she is missing
    your attention now.
Please feel free to use this as a letter of reference and be assured I would not hesitate in recommending you to anyone who requires your
house-sitting services. I couldn’t have wished for anyone better."........

We can give you character references and phone
numbers of people to call to get any detail you
need to provide you with peace of mind.
