Our home

Our house is a modern well appointed four bedroom family home with open plan kitchen, family room, dining room and separate lounge. The house has four bedrooms, the master bedroom has two king size single beds, an en-suite with shower, separate toilet, and walk-in wardrobe. The three other bedrooms are serviced by the family bathroom and separate toilet. Two of these bedrooms have king size beds and the other has two single beds. While the house is essentially one level there are two steps from the living area to the first bedroom and entrance hall and four more steps to the other bedrooms, utility room and garage.
We have all the usual appliances including WiFi, and Sky TV.

Who we are

  1. We are Joy (Nurse, soon to retire) and Peter (retired Police Officer and Kiwifruit Grower). We have four children who live in various parts of New Zealand and Australia. We have some experience exchanging house having had a very successful swap with a wonderful family in Melbourne some years ago. In October this year our youngest son is getting married in Colombia, so we are planning to spend eight weeks in the UK and Europe before going to U.S.A. (East Coast) for a month before the wedding.

We live in a very quiet area of a new development called The Lakes, which is on the edge of Tauranga city. It is a five minute drive to the local shops and supermarket and we can be at our local golf club in the same time. It is a drive of 10 minutes to the city centre and 15 minutes to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Tauranga is situated on the coast in the beautiful Bay of Plenty and is the centre of Kiwifruit growing in New Zealand. It is approximately 200km's or 2.5 hours drive south of Auckland International Airport or a 30 minute flight with Air NZ. Because of it central location Tauranga is an ideal base for visiting some of the major tourist attractions in the North Island, Rotorua 1 hour, Taupo 2 hours, the Coromandle Peninsular, National Park (active volcano's and hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter) 3 hours drive. Some of the local attractions include, Surfing, Diving, Fishing (Ocean and Trout), Mountain biking, Bush walks, Golf (check out Tauranga Golf Club, Omokoroa Golf Club, Omanu Golf Club, Mt Maunganui Golf Club, Te Puke Golf Club, all 18 hole courses and within 40 minutes of home. All visitors should take the time to walk to the top of Mount Maunganui
and take a swim in the natural salt water hot pools.
