Who we are

  1. We are school teachers, musicians, grandparents...... we love living here because it feels semi-rural and peaceful, but it's still close enough to the city to enjoy all that has to offer. We often get in to town to see a band or a movie. We haven't travelled much but have always wanted to, and now seems like a good time to begin.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our area is quiet and safe. It is a settled suburb of mainly young families. The land includes sloping garden, lawn and bush. Below the bush is an estuary which is partly tidal, and is an ever-changing vista. There is a wooden walkway down to the water through the bush next to the house, and a formed walkway round the estuary to boatsheds and the highway. We are 35 minutes drive away from Wellington city, which has fine museums, galleries, theatres, restaurants, cafes, and night-life. 4 hours drive north there is great snow skiing at Mt Ruapehu. From the city you can catch a ferry to the South Island - a 3 hour sail along the south coast of the North Island and through the very picturesque Marlborough Sounds to Picton and the top of the South Island. There is a small shopping area at the bottom of the hill with a small supermarket, pubs, a medical centre, liquor store, post office, fast food shops and other retailers.
