Our home

We have a lovely home that is situated in the Beautiful Bay of Islands, otherwise know as Paihia. It is only 7 years old, modern, and has four bedrooms and two bathrooms and there is room for everyone, especially for entertaining. Our home is a few minutes drive from the nearest beach and Summer time here is heavenly........

Who we are

  1. We are a family of six. I am Shelly and I am a Counsellor. My husband Nik is a Health and Safety Officer for the governement here in NZ. We have four children......Detroit who is aged 21, Navarre who is 14, Aquilla who is 12 years old, and Valencia who is our 1 & 1/2 year old baby girl. Oh, and we can't forget about introducing Neesha, our 6 year old German Shepherd. My husband and I do most of the travelling, but our children also get itchy feet and tend to join us on some trips abroad. They also have the travel bug :)
Travel is our passion and we believe that the best education that we can give our children is travel. Learning about different cultures, languages and countries.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We live just on the outskirts of Paihia town, in a very quiet and peaceful street. Some nights you can hear the kiwi's calling. Surrounded by bush, there are many native birds in the trees nestled around our home.

Paihia has lots of outdoor activites to do, such as visiting the Waitangi Treaty Grounds where you can learn the history of New Zealand, the local Maori Tribes and Colonisation which all took place right here in this town, in the early 1800's. There are dolphin cruises, fishing trips, jet ski hire, parasailing, swimming at the beach, sipping a pina colada or a cold beer in one of the cafe's or restaurant's lining the waterfront, or just plain sunbathing on the beach. One thing is for certain......when you leave Paihia, you leave well rested and relaxed :)
