Our home

This holiday house pretty much offers all the luxuries of home but also offers the most amazing views of the Kaipara Harbour. Situated down a long driveway, you are far away from neighbours and noise. You will feel the peace and serenity the moment you arrive.

The house has one master bedroom with ensuite, one double bedroom separate from the house with a toilet and basin. As well as the main living area, we have a room that can be used for watching television or can be used as a third bedroom with a sofa that pulls out into a double bed.

There is decking around a large part of the house and balconies on the first floor. The kitchen isn't large but does seem to deliver even when we've had eight people staying! All the furniture and fittings are of high standard and all relatively new.

Who we are

  1. We both work and have a full social life. We have both travelled a lot and continue to do so. Our house and environs matches our lifestyle - enjoying switching between a busy work and social life and having the ability to hunker down and chill out.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

The house is part of a development with nine other properties. However at April 2014, only two other properties are tenanted (at the opposite end of the development). Pahi is a tiny settlement with a camp ground and boat club and wharf. Paparoa is the nearest larger settlement with a few shops, a pub, garage station, small supermarket and a restaurant. Every couple of weeks there is a farmer's market on a Saturday morning.

Although tucked away, Paparoa is near the Kauri Museum and great base for day trips to the Waipoua Forest (home of Tane Mahuta) and close to East Coast beaches and surfing such as Waipu and only one and three quarter hours from Auckland. You may like to explore further north to the Bay of Islands.
