“We thoroughly enjoyed our exchange to Keith and Mary's lovely old home with the added bonus of fresh eggs from 'the girls' each day. A comfortable walk to the town centre and historic area. For a town of under 14,000 people the grandiose buildings, including a beautiful opera house, left over from the gold rush days are astonishing and well worth viewing. We met Mary and Keith at Christchurch airport and so were able to use their car to travel the 3 hours south and did the same of their return making it very easy.”

Our home
Type: House, Bathrooms: 2, Bedrooms: 3, Sleeps: 5
We have a Victorian Period house in a prominent South Hill location. The home is Oamaru Stone. Lead-light windows with doors and balustraded Rimu staircase provide beautiful original features. A warm and inviting lounge heated by wood fire makes for cosy winter evenings while the light-filled kitchen and dining room leading to the deck allow the sun to bathe the home. A delightfully landscaped gardens with flowers, vegetables & fruit trees adds to the homeliness. A single garage with remote control and off street parking and a workshop attached for convenience.
Our section is fully fenced and very private. The landscaping includes a terraced rockery, waterfall and pond with a fountain. From the upstairs bedrooms we enjoy amazing mountain views with ocean views stretching the length of the bay - headland in the North to the forest headlands on South Hill.
It is an easy 10 minute walk to town, harbour and Public Gardens.

Who we are
-
We are a retired, but very active couple who have been living in Oamaru since Aug/2011 and loving it. We came from Witta on the Sunshine Coast Queensland, Australia . We would like a swap in North Brisbane or on the Sunshine Coast near Family & friends or travel to far away destinations.
We are passionate gardeners and travelers and would like to share this beautiful part of ' our new world ' with others while experience all there is to offer on your side of the world.
We have very successfully exchanged homes in the Chiltern Hills., England. We have also done home swaps with homes in Maleny and a farm in Landsboough on the Sunshine Coast.
We are non smokers, active and healthy. We love our home and would care for your home as if it were our own.
