Our home

This is not a luxury house but it's got X-factor. We can hear and see the waves from almost every room. This is our oasis, our refuge - yet its only 35 minutes from the cafes, clubs and shops of Aucklands inner city. It has a spacious, well designed kitchen as well as a vegetable garden that feeds us well. There is a fully fenced pool to cool off on those sweltering days and the property is surrounded by tropical gardens to ensure privacy. There are plenty of toys and books in our little girls room to keep any child occupied on dull days. We have high speed wireless broadband, surfboard, weights, golf clubs, a mountain bike and car available for your use.

Who we are

  1. I am a professional musician. My husband is a filmmaker. We have a 22 year old son Kimiora at Auckland University and a 4 year old daughter Manawanui. Our home reflects our travels throughout the world but also our cultural identity as Maori and our love of contemporary Maori art.

Your neighbourhood

We live in beautiful Muriwai Beach. It is one of the wildest surf beaches in New Zealand and coupled with its black sands, has inspired writers, painters and musicians for many years. Muriwai is a surfers paradise but growing in reputation as an artists colony. Great if you love golf, tramping, fishing, photography - plenty to do here. There are numerous walking tracks through the native bush that take in the villages spectacular sites - including a beautiful gannet colony or you can trek the four-day walking track through the Waitakere Ranges named after one of New Zealand's greatest adventurers, Sir Edmund Hilary. You can grab a coffee at either of our two local cafes or make one on our machine. Muriwai is only 35 minutes from Auckland, NZ's most exciting city and the biggest Polynesian city in the world. The village is surrounded by vineyards, wineries, strawberry gardens, fruit and vegetable stores - and even two restaurants recently listed as best in Auckland.
