Our home

Open, airy, and spacious. Our beautiful home is designed by a local architect. The home faces north so it captures the sun all day as it streams through the glass windows, ranch slider and French doors.
The polished concrete floors store heat from the sun too. The lounge and bedrooms are carpeted.
We think it is an awesome house for children because they are almost always able to be seen from any part of the house. We also have a sandpit and swing for children.
The lounge/dining areas are air conditioned.
We have a large LCD TV, with a home theatre system, and SKY digital television.
The kitchen is well equipped, with dishwasher, microwave and fridge freezer. Internal access to one of the garages is through the pantry. The house flows seamlessly to the outside entertaining area, which has outside speakers played through the home theatre system.
There is an office space with a Mac computer (broadband internet) and printer. Internal access to the 2nd garage is through the office, and the laundry is also in this garage.
The orientation and shape of the house means it is extremely private from our quiet road.
Walk to 2 local supermarkets in less than 10 minutes, or drive to the shopping mall just 4km away.
There are many friendly and helpful neighbours close by!

Who we are

  1. Laurene is a stay at home Mum who works part time at Waikato Waldorf School, teaching our indigenous language Maori. Craig manages his own industrial refrigeration business. We are both in our 30s. Our son Cadell is 2 years old. We have a Beagle dog, who won't be living here when you are. But if possible we would like our cat Max to host you through your stay.
We are lucky enough to have neighbours who are our very good friends. They would be happy to show you around and help you make the most of your stay.
We are hoping to exchange homes in March/April 2011 as our very good friends in Switzerland are getting married! If you interested in coming during the Rugby World cup we may be able to arrange something to accommodate you, please just ask.
We haven't had an exchange yet, but we are very excited about being able to travel like this and also to share our beautiful country with others.
