Our home

We love our log home and for anyone who has ever longed to stay in a woodsy log home, this is it! It is less than 10 yrs old and has been designed with families in mind with the logs providing the perfect living environment, keeping the house warm in the cold and cool in the heat. It has all the mod cons including a spa and swimming pool. Our home is very comfortable with large rooms and plenty of exit points to the veranda which surrounds the house for out door living. We have an extensive garden, which includes lawns, flowers, shrubs, vegetables, and fruit trees. Animals include a cat, dogs, chooks, sheep and 6 llamas. We can have the animals looked after if you prefer. Activities for the family on our farm include a flying fox, rope swing, tree huts, walking and biking tracks, table tennis and many inside games. We have 2 vehicles available, a 2005 Toyota Hilux twin cab and a 7 seater Toyota Estima. A housekeeper will be in 2 mornings a week to clean and look after the garden. This home has lots of interesting architectural features that will inspire and make for a memorabile stay.

Property features

Who we are

  1. We are a down to earth family of 4,Myself, Anthony (46) and my wife Karen (45) having 2 wonderful children, Donovan (14) Constance (11). Our family spent 3 months in Europe last year and exchanged with 6 homes and loved the experience. We are involved in retailing woodcraft, which we love ( www.woodcraftgallerynz.com ). We are outdoor type people and enjoy travel and the new experiences it brings. We have worked hard to provide a good environment for bringing up our children and feel NZ is a great place to be. We love the idea of swapping homes and the opportunities it presents. We are certain we can provide an unforgettable experience for the exchange family and will do all possible to make it work. Thanks for viewing our site Anthony & Karen,

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

The picturesque valley we live in on Banks Peninsula has been split in life style blocks of 30 acres or more so none of the neighbours or the quite country road are within 250m. Our 4 closest neighbours are all very friendly and helpful and enjoy meeting new people. Within walking distance are our local church, cafe, and the many walking and biking tracks. A short drive will get you to tennis courts, beaches, fishing, golf, bowls and more cafes. We are with in 30 minutes of Christchurch city and all that has to offer and 3/4 hr from the French settlement of Akaroa, a must see for all visitors. 1 1/2 hrs drive will get you to the mountains with their famous bush walks, huts and skiing. Our home is within 5 hrs of beautiful Queenstown famous for its scenery. The south Island never fails to provide a wonderful experience for visitors.
