Our home has been designed to meet the needs of our large family so it has a large open plan family room which incorporates the kitchen, dining and living areas - complete with a large screen TV, home entertainment system and internet connection. This flows into the double-height lounge which has a void up to the 'bridge' accessing the bedrooms, and doors leading out to the concreted barbeque and spa pool area outside.
The majority of bedrooms are located upstairs, the master bedroom with ensuite and 3 double bedrooms (2 with 2 single beds and 1 with 1 single bed). Another master bedroom is located downstairs and used by us as a guest room with it's own ensuite.
Our 2 acre section feels very 'park-like' with large trees, a trampoline and even has a golf hole with bunker, for the passionate golfers in the family.
We are born-and-bred New Zealanders and a family of seven - Warwick is a pharmacist with two suburban pharmacies; Sarah stays at home, teaching the five children - Rachel (13); Sam (11); Joel (10); Oliver (8); and Phoebe (5).
We love meeting new people, discovering more of God's amazing creation and partaking in outdoor pursuits of many kinds - golf, swimming, scuba diving/snorkeling, rugby, cricket etc.
We have traveled to a few countries in the Pacific and would like to go further afield to experience some other cultures. As we are not bound by the school holidays, we are able to travel throughout the year.
Christchurch, the 'Garden City', is located in the South Island of New Zealand.
It has an 'English' feel to it both in architecture and in landmark names, with the Avon river flowing through the middle and a large Botanic Garden.
Our home is situated on 2 acres within the city boundary and is just a 10 minute drive to the CBD.
Christchurch has lots of attractions within the city - art galleries, museums, the Antartic centre, wildlife parks, golf courses, beaches, biking and walking tracks etc. It is also considered a gateway to many other activities that are only a few hours drive away - ski fields, Hanmer Springs alpine thermal area, Kaikoura whale watching and dolphin encounters, National parks to name a few.
One of the things we love about New Zealand is that we have no poisonous insects or snakes and no dangerous wild animals here.
New Zealand has stunning scenery and the South Island has some of the most beautiful, contrasting scenery in the world. We would recommend that you see the rest of the country while you are here - our 'people-mover' can be included in the exchange or at the very least go on some organized tours.
