Our home

We have a modern brick home with 3 double bedrooms. (One king bed, 1 queen bed and 1 single bed with roll out bed). The settee in the lounge folds out to an extra double bed if required.
The main bedroom has it's own en suite bathroom. There is a separate bathroom for the other bedrooms.
The kitchen living area is open plan. There is a separate lounge which can be opened up to the kitchen living area or closed off.
We have digital TV in the living area with sky sport. There is also an extra TV in the main bedroom.
We have wireless internet with high speed broadband. Own laptop would be required.
We have a heat pump in the living area for when the weather is colder. This acts as air conditioning unit in the summer.
We have a double garage which is attached to the house.
There is a nice outdoor area with tables and chairs, BBQ and large sun umbrella. This area is very sheltered from the wind.

Who we are

  1. We, Drew and Ann are early retirees. Drew worked in the banking industry for most of his working life. Ann also worked in banking and then as a credit controller.
We had a vineyard and homestay for several years which we really enjoyed. The vineyard was a change from working indoors and the homestay allowed us to meet many interesting people from all over the world.
We both enjoy travelling and have visited many parts of the world and still have lots of places to visit on our wish list.
We are both keen golfers, enjoy dining out, walking, reading, solving cryptic crosswords, gardening, and going to the movies.
Drew also plays outdoor bowls, and enjoys going fishing.
Ann has an interest in photography and plays bridge.
We have 3 adult children and 5 lovely grandchildren.
We are able to do non-simultaneous swaps as we are able to visit family in other parts of NZ at any time.
We have done several house swaps which have been very successful. We would take great care of any prospective house swaps home.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our area Harewood is situated on the outskirts of Christchurch close to the airport (10 minutes) and approx. 25 minutes from the centre of town. Our street is a quiet cul de sac.
The immediate neighbours are very friendly and helpful if needed.
There is The Papanui nearby for a quick meal if required. This is a club which welcomes visitors.
There is a choice of shopping areas all within about a 5 minute drive - Bishopdale Shopping Centre, Northlands Mall (the biggest) and Northwood.
The city centre offers the Art Gallery, the Museum, more shops and a variety of restaurants and bars. We have many new facilities including the library which is well worth a visit.
There is a very good cinema complex in the Colombo Mall(south of the city) which offers Arthouse films. For more main stream movies there is Hoyts at Northlands.
For those who play golf there are several golf courses within 20 minutes of our home - Russley, Clearwater, Harewood, Coringa, Macleans Island, Templeton, Christchurch, Waitikiri, Bottle Lake and Templeton. We have clubs available for use if required.
