Our home

Spacious, clean, comfortable and user friendly home situated in a small rural town/village in the lower north island. The house has undergone extensive renovations and decorating. New large kitchen with adjoining dining room and family room with wood burner, connected to solar powered hot water. House has great indoor/outdoor flow through double set bifolding doors to the patio. Seperate laundry and smaller bathroom. Main bathroom has double vanity, large shower, toilet and double spa bath. Two lounges with wood burners, both rooms have french doors leading into veranda. Office with computer, internet and fax available. 4 double bedrooms sleeping 8 people. The property is spacious with mature trees, established gardens and stream through back garden. Ajoining 2 acre paddock holding at present cows, sheep and ducks (no maintance required) Very quite and private.

Who we are

  1. We are Alison and Gordon and we are in our early fifties. We have 4 children, our son Scott is 24 and is currently serving in the fleet air arm of the royal navy in the UK, our eldest daughter Regan is 20 years old and just qualified as a beauty therapist and is heading off to the UK early 2006 to start nannying, our 17 year old daughter Sian is attending college and our youngest daughter Savannah who is 9 years old is at primary school and will be accompanying us. Gordon is an Engineer and Alison is a teacher. We own and operate our own Early Childhood/preschool Centre in Greytown. We also operate a self contained homestay which is situated next door to our home, this is usually occupied most weekends.
    We are keen to travel to most places in the UK and dates of travel can be flexible.

Just an hour north from New Zealands capital Wellington. Settled in 1854 Greytown was New Zealands first planned inland town. Greytowns history and heritage is neatly packaged with stylish cafes and wonderful restaurants. Boutique shopping and antique shops give for intriguing shopping options. locally grown produce available fresh all year round. Our house is situated across from childrens play park, swimming pool, cricket grounds and tennis courts all surrounded by historic mature tree. Plenty of activities for young and old alike.
Heading south a 10 minute drive will take you to Martinborough holding award winning vineyards which host tours regualary. Quad biking and jet boating available. Going further south takes you to the coast where fishing is done regualry and seals on display.
Heading 10 minutes north takes you to carterton with the reknowned paua shell factory and hot air balloning. An hours drive north will take you to fabulous beaches and lighthouses. Theres plenty to do for all ages.
