Our home

A beautiful seaside dwelling with a grassy slope down to rock steps on the tidal sand/rock/mud flats on the Waitemata Harbour, to the west of, and just around from the Harbour Bridge.

2 bedroom, although one of the bedrooms has a section opened up to the main lounge.. (presently screened off for an art studio) You could open this out to sleep in it and look at the sea.

This little room also has French doors opening to the garden at the side of the house.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Kotare(Street)means kingfisher in Maori. Birds, boats, gentle living. Even when the tide is out with the sand and rock there are patterns to enjoy. I have seen seagulls, herons, kingfishers, tui's, ducks, black swan, and many more as well as white birds rising in the evenings over the bay.

You can walk out when the tide is out and feel as if you you are out in the country, yet the city is only around the corner. One hour's walk from the CBD of Auckland, through interesting suburbs. If traffic is not heavy it can take less than 10 mins drive. Easy bus access...15mins

Trees, quiet walks, a large park 2 blocks away. Westmere is a very desirable suburb to live in. Quiet graceful area in the western suburbs of Auckland on the Waitemata Harbour.

An area full of artists, writers, film makers and other creative people. One of the best cafe's in Auckland just one block away where you can sit in the sun and see the sea. Great food and coffee. Restaurants, markets, farmers market on Sunday.. Fishmarket with jazz on Friday nights at the Harbourside. Theatres, galleries etc. Yoga, Bohemian, dancing in the Seascouts den just 5 mins around the bay. Tennis courts around the corner.

Easy access to the motorway to head North, South and West...Wild west coast beaches of Piha, black sands. Waiheke Island, and the Northern white sand and pohutakawa beaches. Bay of Islands. Goat Island nature reserve. Great Kauri forests. Coromandel Penninsula. Art trails.
