Who we are

  1. We are Pete and Pam and, having both raised families into adulthood, we are now enjoying "our time". Pete's working in the financial advisory world with fingers in IT and I work at the local city council within the community department looking after the portfolios of youth, aged and disabled. Having left the Netherlands when he was just 20, Pete came to New Zealand and settled here 30 years ago. However there are family back "home" so we are taking the chance to visit as often as possible and fit in other side excursions around Europe - thus our trip to Europe in September. My brother settled in Sydney and raised his family there about the same time so we pop across to Australia when we can. We plan to take Mum and my single adult kids across for a family Christmas.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

With the beach, reserve and marina just 8 minutes walk down the road and so close to the mall and local shopping precinct, there is plenty at hand. Enjoy the local cafes and bars or walk 40 minutes past Lake Pupuke - the local volcanic lake - down the road or along the rocks to Takapuna. A boat ramp, long stretch of sand and reserve to take a picnic or enjoy the thriving cafes and bars, the mall or movies. Want some city action? Grab a bus or just across the valley jump on the motorway for a 5 minute drive into Auckland City. Or 15 minutes drive to historic Devonport where you can take a ferry out to the islands of the Hauraki Gulf - Rangitoto, Waiheke - or into the Auckland city.
