Our home

Have you thought of coming to New Zealand and staying in an idylic romantic country villa?
Our home[1880] is one of the original historic homesteads of the area, sensitively enlarged and lovingly renovated, surrounded by historic English oaks, rolling hills and ancient native bush.
The house has a gorgeous sunny kitchen and conservatory which opens onto an organic pottager garden-a cook's delight. There are two small Dexter cows, some sheep and lambs and Molly the donkey for animal lovers.[and a carer to look after them and the property.]
You can roam the 16 acres and explore the pretty stream meandering through ancient trees. You can enjoy an al fresco picnic lunch beside the pond with its Monet bridge and Japanese iris or stroll up to the organic olive grove and look out to beautiful Waiheke Island and other islands of the Hauraki Gulf. There is a small colonial cottage that sleeps two near the main homstead and doubles as a Robin Rive Teddy bear museum.
"Oakdale" is 40 minutes from Auckland city, driving through pretty countryside and along the stunning Pohutukawa coast.
You can also leave your car at the car park and catch the ferry to Auckland for a visit to the city.[35minutes] or to famous Waiheke Island[35 minutes]--with its many vinyards, award winning retaurants, olive groves and lovely beaches.
From Waiheke the ferry can also take you to the Coromandel peninsula, a beautiful, green, place and the home of many artists and potters.

Just a few minutes drive from "Oakdale",you can enjoy many lovely reserves and walks through bush, farmland and along the coast.Swimming is great with safe, white sandy beaches, good fishing and lots of isolated spots to picnic.

If you are a wine lover,Clevedon has several award-winning vineyards offering wine tastings in attractive surroundings. There is also a selection of restaurants and cafes, some overlooking the ocean.

If you like golf, we are near an award-winning course near the coast and
in the weekend, there is a Farmer's Market and a delightful French Market on the Marina, with lots of atmosphere. For the adventurous, there is paragliding.
