Our home

Our cosy little solid-wood (lockwood) open-plan home has two comfortable bedrooms, perfect for a couple or a small family. The kitchen has a small view to the city, including the Sky Tower. The sunny outdoor deck is beautiful in the summer.

Who we are

  1. We are both in our thirties and love adventure sports; tramping/hiking, camping, kayaking, and most of all; snowboarding.

Actually, our main interest in home exchanges is to go snowboarding in Northern hemisphere winters in Canada, USA and maybe Japan.

Bevan is a software engineer and builds websites. He is from NZ. Lina is from Colombia and is studying IT, business and English. Bevan's 4 year old daughter stays with us often. (The single room is hers.)

We both speak English and Spanish.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our home is on the lower western slope of Mt Victoria, a small dormant volcano. Mt Victoria takes 10 minutes to climb on foot and has superb 360º views of the Waitemata harbour, Auckland city, the Harbour Bridge, North Shore city, Takapuna, the Hauraki gulf and Rangitoto Island.

Devonport's village centre is a 3 minute walk away and has a retro cinema, supermarket, plus plenty of restaurants, bars, cafes and other facilities. The ferry terminal is on the far side of the village centre, a 10 minute walk away. Ferry services provides frequent access to the city, as well as trips to several islands in the Hauraki gulf, all of which make fantastic day trips.

You can use our bicycles or motor scooter to explore the area, including both of Devonport's volcanoes and five beautiful beaches that are great for swimming, sailing, stand-up paddle boarding and kayaking. You can use our kayak and stand up paddle board too. But you will need to transport it. Soft racks are available for your or our vehicle.

Our car or 50cc motor scooter can take you further afield if you wish. Although with the easy access to the city and ferry services there are plenty of entertainment options (indoor and outdoor) available without needing to use vehicles.
