Our home

Waiheke Island has recently been named by Lonley Planet as one of the world's top five destinations
Our home is at one of Waiheke's prime locations: overlooking the Hauraki Gulf, private sea access (riparian rights), near a resort and in walking distance to Oneroa with some of Waiheke's best beaches, shops and restaurants. Property features a 3-bedroom house, a guesthouse for two, garden, sauna, courtyard, lawns and a lovely pathway down to the sea with excellent swimming and diving. It is our family home and, at the same time, favourite holiday place. Among the advantages of living on Waiheke is its sunny, sub-tropical climate, the incredible beauty of the island, its diverse community (amazing people!) and the close proximity to Auckland (35 minutes ferry ride). Optional use of our car, motor scooters and bicycles.

Who we are

  1. We are Prue and Klaus, a married couple with two teenage children and a border collie. We are both professors of environmental law and travel a lot. We have not done a home exchange before, but are planning two extended stays in Europe - September to December 2016 in London and August - December 2017 in other parts of Europe -, so hope that an exchange can be arranged with nice people and suitable homes.
