Our home

Our home is clean comfortable tidy simple & sunny, with fabulous mountain views of the snow capped Crown range, in winter. Yes Queenstown is cold in winter, but has a relatively hot and dry summer for NZ.
All day sun and a wood burner fire make this wood interior home warm and cosy summer or winter. 3 bedrooms with kitchen off the main living area where we eat and socialise. Separate lounge TV/computer room off the main living area for those who want to be separate from the main room. This is also the TV/computer room. Computer comes with broadband.
Bedroom =2 double beds, 1 bunk bed plus 1 single bed. House recently carpeted throughout. Small but adequate kitchen Parking front and rear of the house. Outdoor barbeque, trampoline and swing. Large sunny section at the back of the house for children to play in view from the kitchen. Fantastic mountain and ski field views of the ranges from the front of the house . A very inviting comfortable home.

Property features

Who we are

  1. My wife and I are in our late forties. We have one 6 year old daughter.
We are all a very tidy, clean and house proud family.
We have not tried a home exchange before but are keen to try it as a less commercial option. We have travelled alot in the past, but since arriving in Queenstown 5 years ago, have not moved much mainly because there is so much to do and explore in this area. We are keen skiiers in winter with access to 4 local ski areas. Numerous summer activites for all ages .
Elizabeth works as a teacher aid and I have had various businesses, the last of which was an adventure tourism one here. I have also been a commercial photographer and involved prior to that as a health professional . Elizabeth & I both come from a farming background.
We are wanting to go to the east coast of australia in the next school holidays, end of Sept/begin October 2008 for 2 weeks, in the northern NSW area or southern Queensland, after which we are open to other countries anywhere from December through Feb . We are non smokers and would leave your house as tidy if not tidier than we found it . We have a stationwagon car available ( optional )

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We are located in Central Otago, arguably one of the most beautiful and varied areas you will ever visit anywhere in the world. OK I'm biased but I'm also qualifed, having lived in many parts of the world previously.
Our house is located at historic Arthurs Point, 5 mins drive from the center of queenstown and lake Wakatipu. I min from the Shotover River and jetboating (Google Shotover Jet), rafting, canyon swings, river/lake fishing, hot pools, mountain biking/walking trails at our back door re the Moonlight track trail through to Moke Lake. Skiing at Coronet Peak is only 15 mins drive in winter as is the entrance to Skippers Canyon in summer. Historic gold town, Arrowtown is a 15 min drive. Queenstown is an ideal touring base for the south. With Glenorchy township at the head of the lake a must visit with its Dart and Rees valleys and their many walks .(Google Routeburn, Milford & Greenstone treks)
Milford and Doubtful Sounds are approx. a 3 hour drive. Lake Wanaka and township are a 50 minute drive. Cromwell a 40 min drive The west coast (Haast) is a 3 hour drive through the Haast Pass. The south coast is a 2 hour drive (Invercargill Bluff & Stewart Island). Mount Cook national Park and its glaciers, a 3 hour drive. The area is rich in early gold history. Queenstown is considered the adventure capital of the world with a nightlife to match. For those less adventureous, world class golf courses, restaurants, cafes, scenic walks & tours etc.
