Our home

Arrowtown is a picturesque small town close to Queenstown in the Central Otago region of the South Island of New Zealand. It is an historic gold mining town on the Arrow river and has a very special ambience and style of its own.

Check out

Our holiday home is now 4 years old and is maintained in immaculate condition with every amenity.
The split level living areas open onto terraces or balonies on each level designed for indoor outdoor living during the warm summer months. The three bedrooms are large and well appointed with amazing mountain views from every room.
The house enjoys full winter sun during the winter skiing season but double glazing, air conditioning and log fire with a gas booster keep the house very comfortable.
We keep several sets of golf clubs, mountain bikes, kayaks and all the necessary holiday toys at the house available for use.
Our favourite feature of the house is the use of local schist stonework in the landscaped gardens which open onto parkland on three sides of the property. Our neighbour does a great job maintaining the gardens which are an absolute delight.

Property features

Who we are

  1. Pam and Peter are somehow mid fifty and this house is part of our retirement plan to spend several weeks of the year in our favorite part of the world. Pam has an IT background and Peter worked in commercial property development. Designing and building our homes has been an interest which we enjoy.

Originally from New Zealand we now live in Brisbane, Australia, which is a three hour flight. As youngsters we both holidayed in this area and for us Central Otago is a very special place.

We are also fortunate to have another lovely holiday home on the Gold Coast in Australia which we use as a weekender.

You might like to check out our villa on the water in Sanctuary Cove. See the homepage.

If you are travelling from the other side of the world it might be a good idea to spend a week or two at each holiday house and we would be happy to assist with some local knowledge.

We keep our properties in immaculate condition and we are keen to exchange with people with similar values who have also found those special spots in interesting parts of the world.

From 2008 we are looking forward to travelling to interesting parts of the world, playing golf, boating, skiing and generally experiencing different cultures.

The scenery in this part of the world is simply stunning and most of the acclaimed "Lord of the Rings" movie trilogy was fimed in this area.
Our house sits high on a ridge surrounded by parkland with majestic uninterupted views in every direction.

Across the park the local convenience store sells everything you need and it is a nice stroll less than a kilometre into the centre of bustling Arrowtown to the cafes, fine dining restaurants, theatre and mainstreet shopping.

There are three great golf courses within a five minute drive including world reknown Millbrook.
Central Otago has 276 Wineries and produces amazing Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc wines. A favourite holiday activity is visiting a few wineries to taste the wines and enjoy the food.

Skiing is best in July and August and there are three good fields nearby the closest being Coronet Peak door to to ski lift in less than 20 minutes.

Well known walks include the Milford Track, Routeburn and Kepler Trail for serious trampers however local trails around beautiful Lake Hayes or the Arrow river are close by.

Almost every imaginable adventure holiday activity operates out of nearby Queenstown on Lake Wakitipu. Wonderful trout fishing, boating, rafting, parasailing - this place is the adventure capital of the southern hemisphere.

This is a secure friendly environment where the locals stop for a chat. Day and night it is safe to step out for a stroll, walk home from the restaurants.
