Who we are

  1. I work as a (part time) teacher. The two cots in the house are for my grandchildren. Unfortunately my wife has passed away. I often do home exchanges and invite relatives/friends to come and join me. I love travelling and like to choose my own company, but I also travel alone. As an avid cyclist, living so close to the city center and the railway station, I don't have a car anymore. Travelling (culture), gardening, cycling and rowing are my hobbies.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Middelburg, a medieval town, is the capital of the province of Zeeland.
Miles of golden sandy beaches more or less surround this island (Walcheren). The beaches are within cycling distance. Veerse Meer (previously North Sea) is ideal for windsurfing and outings (with the kids) There are separate cycling paths all over the island. An ideal place if you are interested in how the Dutch manage to keep dry feet (after the big 1953 flood) The house is 800 metres from the railway station. Every half hour there is a direct train to Amsterdam. Rotterdam, Antwerp (B), Ghent(B) and Brugues(B) can be reached by car in about one hour. You can also get there by bus. The province of Zeeland is made up of islands, that are now interconnected by dykes nowadays.
