Our home

We live in a sunny, colorful and quiet two-floor apartment with private entrance.
On the first floor you find a spacious and bright living room (55 m2) with open kitchen, large windows and doors to both balconies.
The second (top) floor consists of two bedrooms, a modest but nice bathroom and a small study. One of the bedrooms is equipped with a double bed, the other with a sofa bed and lots of toys.

Additional information:
- wireless internet
- two bikes (with child seats in front).
- we own a garden (200 m2) in a lush "garden complex" at a five minute's walk from our house. There's a small sandbox, slide and swing. This is a good place to relax after a day in the city.

Property features

Who we are

  1. We are a couple in our mid-thirties with a small daughter.
Louise is a free lance consultant in urban renewal and housing. Peter is a scientist (mathematics/computer science).
Wiske is a lot of fun.

Our favourite destinations used to be the USA (we lived in San Francisco and Santa Cruz) and Italy (where we went many times). But please surprise with new ideas! Important ingredients of a successful vacation are: beautiful surroundings (hiking), good food, wine and coffee (within walking distance), pleasant, bright house and green garden.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our street combines the best of both worlds. It feels like a village, yet it's a five minute walk from great restaurants and great shopping. The city center is less than 10 minutes by bike.

Our house lies at the foot of a dike covered with apple trees and flowers, holding back the water of a little canal: our front entrance is below the water level. Our street is lined with friendly 19th century houses. There is hardly any traffic except bikers, who love to ride along this green and quiet street. Both our street and the canal end at the Amstel river, along which you can bike or walk to the city center.

This makes our house well-suited for families with one or two small children.
There are various parks (Frankendael, Oosterpark, Flevopark) and playgrounds within walking distance. We use these almost every day.

There are plenty of good restaurants and cafes within walking distance, most of which offer outdoor seating.
