Our home

We have a 110 m2 apartment in an historic building in the funkiest part of the Amsterdam canal district. You can't get more central.

The house has a typical Amsterdam layout with a front- and backhouse and a sunny patio in between. It contains a living room, modern spacious kitchen with Smeg appliances, 2 home office work spaces, a master bedroom and a large bathroom.

Our house is ideal for a couple (with maybe a kid over the age of 8 or a tiny baby) who wants to have a homey place to stay in the center of Amsterdam.

Ideal for a holiday but also for gettting work done. There are 2 workspaces with computer equipment and fast (1.5 Mbps) wired and wireless ADSL service throughout the house (incl. patio).

Who we are

  1. What we are looking for:

    Spring/Summer 2007:
    Marseille or South of France.

    Fall 2007:
    San Francisco.

In general we are open to short stays but also longer ones (several months). We like to escape the winter in Europe and in the summer, we like to stay in seaside locations. Tempt us!

    Previous swaps:
So far we swapped two times to Barcelona (summer breaks) and twice to San Francisco (longer stays/work). We loved it!

We are both self-employed and work from home. We found out we can do our work from everywhere, so we travel a lot and like to swap houses (with people who have fast Internet connections).

Willem is an independent web designer, has a website Weekendhotel.nl and writes hotel guides.

Esme has a consultancy company and website Muniwireless.com (the portal for news and information about municipal wireless projects worldwide).

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We are in the center of the hippest boutique shopping area of Amsterdam. And museums are either around the corner (Anne Frank House) or within easy reach of public transport. If you prefer modern art and design, our neighborhood is filled with shops selling designer furniture and clothing.
