Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Alkmaar is an historical town (older than Amsterdam) and quite original.
It's close to Amsterdam (30 minutes), Haarlem, The Hague and has excellent public transport to discover The Netherlands.
We live close to the Northsea and beautiful dunes (15 minutes), Island Texel (boatjourney 30 min), typical Dutch landscapes (mills) around.
There are also many biking paths.
Many restaurants around on walking distance (all different kinds of food) also take-aways.
There are several museums and there is a splendid shopping area around (funshopping, typical, little shops).

Every Friday you can join the cheesemarket (you can even see it from our window).
