Our home

It is a designer house with spacious rooms and sunny living-dining room which looks onto the garden surrounded by woods. On one side of the dining-living room, it looks out to the sea. The kitchen, bathroom and bedroom also look out to the sea. You can enjoy the view of the sea while doing your washing up or taking a shower. There is a spacious study down stairs on the ground floor that also looks onto the garden and the sea. The concrete building is fitted with wooden panels inside so it has a warm feel to the place. The garden is 300 square meters, so there is plenty of room for relaxing, working or doing some gardening.

Who we are

  1. I am an academic working in Tokyo. I use my house both as a base and a retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

It is a quiet neighborhood for second-home owners although some of them have retired and are living there permanently. The area known as Izu is a popular place for beautiful beaches, hot spring and nice sea food. There are plenty of good gourmet restaurants around if you explore the area. If you are into hiking, the seacoast trail offers a spectacular view. It is also a hub for divers. Izukogen is known for its cherry blossoms which bloom in early spring. The climate is mild and comfortable to live in. It is within traveling distance to Tokyo if you want a bit of excitement.
