Our home

Located in the heart of Udine, in one of the most beautiful streets of the historical centre, our apartment offers all comforts.
The apartment is situated on the 3rd floor of a quiet building with elevator. This nice renovated building was built in the the XIX century and has been recently renovated.
The apartment is 55 sqm large, and can comfortably accommodate a couple of persons (but is also suitable for couple with a child, if you use the sofa in the large living room as a bed).
The flat consists of a fully-equipped kitchen and a large living room, a bathroom with shower and a bedroom with a cosy comfortable large bed.
The light flooded living room is very bright and has a wonderful view on the beautiful Anton Lazzaro Moro street.
The room divides into a kitchen/dining area and a living area with sofa, coffee table, flat screen with hi-fi.
You can enjoy books and TV, if you would like to spend a cosy night at home relaxing, rather than discovering the city.
The fully equipped kitchen will give you the possibility to try out your cooking skills and maybe prepare some traditional Italian dishes (you’ll find a lot of recipe books to inspire you in the bookcase!).
In the apartment you’ll really find everything you need: oven, fridge and freezer, washing machine, dishes, pots and pans, coffee machine, iron and ironing board, wardrobe, linen and towels.

Who we are

  1. Hi everybodWe are Luca (33 years old) and Alessandra (29 years old), a young Italian couple from Udine, Friuli Venezia Giulia . We are both professionals in the field of design: Luca works in a local furniture design company, while Alessandra is an arhcitect and graphic designer. We love beautiful things, good food and a glass of wine at the sunset. We enjoy staying out with friends, biking, cooking and, of course, travelling and knowing new people.
We think that home exchanges are a wonderful new way to discover new places and new people, and we like it as it is a great way to see another country as a resident, and of cours allow someone to see ours.
We are looking, for the moment, for a 2 or 3 weeks exchange in August 2015.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

If you would like to have a comfortable apartment in a quiet and very distinguished area, and at the same time to be in the real centre of Udine, then we are sure this flat can fulfill your wishes.
Within walking distance you'll find all the best of Udine (shops, restaurants, bars, pastries, pharmacy, bakery, press, bus stops). Just downstairs at the ground floor, you’ll find the best wine bar in town (perfectly visible from the flat’s windows): Angolo del Gusto, a typical Friulan osteria, wine shop and luxury food emporium, where you can drink a good glass of wine and find all best Friulan and Italian specialties.
On the opposite corner, you can find an ice-cream parlour, a tobacco, a vegetable market, a coiffeur and a lot of other useful characteristic places!

Located between the Adriatic sea and the Alps, Udine is a wonderful city with a long interesting history. The center of Udine is dominated by its Castle, built by Venetians from 1517, which houses one of the most ancient Parliament Halls of Europe. The city main square is Piazza della Libertà, dating 16th Century, with its town hall Loggia del Lionello, in Venetian-Gothic style, opposite to Torre dell’Orologio.
Two small medieval canals flow through the town centre, sometimes hidden underground and other times making attractive additions to the townscape.

Udine is located in the heart of Friuli Venezia Giulia region, between the Adriatic Sea (45 km) and the Alps (40 km), just off the borders with Austria and Slovenia. It is very conveniently located to visit some of northern Italy's most popular destinations: Venice, Trieste, the sunny Adriatic beaches...are all just about 1 hour away. It can, for example, be a quieter and cheaper base from which to visit Venice with ease and tranquility!
Venice Airport (VCE) can be reached by car in about 70 minutes, or by train in about 90 minutes.
The nearest airport is Friuli-Venezia Giulia (Trieste) Airport (TRS), 25 miles away. There's a direct bus from the airport, or you can reach it by car in about 35 minutes.
Some of the surrounding area, including Grado (an old Adriatic sea village) and Aquileia (an ancient roman capital, UNESCO World Heritage Site), can be visited by public transport, using SAF buses or the private little Udine-Cividale railway line, which runs to the picturesque Lombard town of Cividale del Friuli, a great day out from Udine just 12 km far from it.
But Friuli means not only sea and ancient towns, but also food and wine delights: you can discover different wine production areas, for example the famous Collio area (20 km) with a lot of value white wines to enjoy, or the San Daniele Village (25 km), where you can find a great ham production.
Anyway, we will be happy to help you suggesting routes dedicated to culture, food and wine!
