Our home

Cozy, bright apartment, on the top floor of a 18th century palazzo in the heart of the large historic center of Turin. Roof garden with lots of plants. You can have your meals between oleander and olive trees with a view over roofs and backyards or in the comfortable living room with dinner table, sofa, tv and piano or in the modern kitchen (some Italian food + spices provided). There is a double bedroom, a studio with a sofa-bed and a bathroom with shower.

Note: also available country-house near DOGLIANI on the beautiful hills of the LANGHE(half way between Turin and the Ligurian seaside), one of the most important wine and food regions of Italy, still not known to mass tourism fortunately. In 2015 this area of hills, wineyards, castles and villages is declared UNESCO world heritage.

Who we are

  1. We are a German/Italian family of three: Tony is an electronic ingeneer, often involved in international projects and travelling a lot. Jan (26y)studies economy at the Turin university and will only occasionally travel with us. I'm teaching German language and culture at the Turin university and organize workshops in movimento creativo (dance therapy). Home exchange means to us the possibility of learning about different places and cultures, meet new people, feel "at home" in a foreign country for some time... We've already had some very pleasant and interesting exchange experiences in Europe, Australia and US, and we want to explore more places. With some exchange partners we have become friends, and they are coming back to our places for the second or third time. Sometimes even sharing the home and cooking and exploring the area together.

For our next holidays we would like to go to places near the sea or a lake where we can swim, walk, enjoy nature, and also learn about local culture and history. We can offer our home in Turin as well as the COUNTRY HOUSE in the quiet wine-hills of the LANGHE, Piemonte, also for non simultaneous swaps. We like to provide you any information that helps you enjoy your stay at its best. If you´re interested in DOGLIANI /Langhe I´ll send more info and fotos.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

The building is located in a small pedestrian street in a quiet neighborhood in the heart of Turin. You're in walking distance to many of the most important historical sites, galleries, shops and boutiques of any kind and level, modern and traditional cafes and restaurants. One of Europe's largest open air markets "Porta Palazzo" is nearby, so is the Royal Palace, the Cathedral with the Holy Shroud, the Cinema Museum, the Egyptien Museum (2nd in the world),Museums of Modern Art, Asian Art, Italian History etc. You can sit in the cafes on the squares, sipping Turin's famous coffee and chocolate specialties, go to the parks for walking, biking, roller blading along the riverside or visit the Olympic sites (winter games 2006). There is a lively scene of music and art events, film festivals etc. Getting out of town and to other major Italian cities with public transportation is easy. Turin is surrounded on three sides by high mountains (the Alps), wonderful sites for hiking and skiing, on the Southern side there are lovely hill landscapes with small old towns, famous for their wine and local food. Two hours south of Turin you reach the seaside (Riviera Ligure) with colourful villages and sandy beaches. The climate is moderate-mediterranean, so you can enjoy your stay in any season of the year.
