Our home

Since we acquired our summer house, our family has had an affectionate name for it: "Casetta" (the Small House). It is actually not a house but an apartment on the second floor of a medieval building, just 12 steps from the center of town. The entire town resembles a labyrinth of small allies with no cars allowed. The area of "Casetta" is circa 28 square meters divided into three areas: a main space with kitchen and living room relax space; an upstairs loft with queen size bed and a walk-in closet; an entrance area with bathroom w/shower. We do not have a fixed line telephone, nor any DSL Internet. WI-Fi facilities are available in cafes downstairs. Mobile phones and cell laptop modems work fine. TV can be made available for stays of more than one week, although we feel one of the best rewards of our place is trading away certain routines.... Please note that there is a flight of stairs to negotiate on the way up, and it is not ideal for wheelchair use.

The ancient part of Sperlonga is a medieval rock, a village town still visibly linked to its 12th century origins. Our apartment is precisely in the heart of the oldest part of town, just a few steps from the central "Piazzetta" (small piazza"). There are cafes, restaurantes and amenities. In May, June and September Sperlonga is a beach paradise, blessed with good weather and an off-beat international atmosphere. July and August are peak Italian summer vacation months. The atmosphere in Fall, Winter and Spring is quiet and private, but visitors find personal reasons to prefer one period over another. Our family has spent many happy weeks during all seasons here. If you want to relax, write, take in mediterranean views and fresh evening breezes, this home and town will be a wonderful surprise. Pompei and Capri are also near.
