Our home

The apartment is downtown, in a middle class district named Prati. The home is an ancient building (early XX century), about 90 square meters. There are two bedrooms, one double living room, one kitchen, one bathroom with shower. Totally 5 beds (1 double bed + 2 beds + 1sofa bed in the living room). Flat is located at fourth floor: form our windows you can see Saint Peter's basilica.

By plane - Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO) - a direct train named "Leonardo Express" links the airport to the Central Station ("Roma Termini" station) in 30 minutes. Train ticket is ¤ 14,00 each. The trains leaves from the airport every 20 minutes. For further details click here: http://www.ferroviedellostato.it (your itinerary is from Fiumicino Airport to Rome Termini).Once you get in Roma Termini, take the Subway Line A till Ottaviano. The house is 200 meters distance.

By plane - Rome Ciampino Airport (CIA) - Terravision - This is a direct bus service, timed to coincide with flights, which connects Ciampino with Stazione Termini in the centre of Rome. This airport service has always seemed fairly efficient, and is, after a taxi, the most efficient and comfortable way to get into Rome. The journey takes around 40 minutes, depending on traffic. If you book online you can avoid ticket queues, and at the time of writing there is an online special offer with tickets for ¤5 one way/¤10 return instead of ¤8/¤14. For further details click here: http://www.terravision.eu

By train - Central Station (named "Roma Termini") is 10 minutes walking (400 mt). Frecciarossa trains (high speed trains) link Rome to Florence in 90 minutes, to Naples in 70 minutes, to Venice in 3 hours and half.

Subway – In Rome there are 2 lines: Line A - red one - and B line - the blue one. Line A links termini to Piazza di Spagna. Line B links Termini to Colosseum. A single ticket is ¤ 1,00. Click here for subway map: http://www.2000info.com . We're really close to Ottaviano station.

Who we are

  1. We're a couple of journalists. Marco works in the culture department of an Italian newspaper, Benedetta works in the Rome Bureau of a Japanese newspaper. We have two children, Elia, born in 2012, and Arturo, born in February 2016. Our apartment is literally full of books on several topics – basically in Italian – and we would like to add new ones – in many other languages.

Your neighbourhood

Prati is the XXII rione of Rome. Its logo is the shape of Hadrian's mausoleum, in a blue color on a silver background. Hadrian's mausoleum (the modern Castel Sant'Angelo) was not in this area, but in the rione Borgo, bordering Prati to the south. This is one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in Rome. In Piazza Della Libertà, on January, 1900 was founded the roman football team S.S. Lazio

In administrative terms, Prati, like Trastevere, belongs to the Center (I Municipio.

The Via Cola di Rienzo is one of the most famous streets in Rome for shops and cafés.
