Our home

We have a nice two storey home in the town of Ravenna, at 15 min. walk from the centre of the town and 10 km. far from the Adriatic sea.
At the ground floor there is a living room with a fireplace, a well furnished kitchen, and outside a private courtyard where you may have your dinner; in the main house there are 2 bathrooms and, at the upper floors, three bedrooms (one queen size bed and two with two beds each);
The normal furnishing of our home (washing machine, freezer, microwave, TV,…) is at your disposal, as well as the car, if you need (Volvo S-60)

Who we are

  1. I am Guido, construction engineer; me and my wife Valeria are entering in the sixties, we have three children, out of which only the youngest is still living with us in Ravenna.
    Due to my work we spent many years abroad, living with the whole family in many different countries, mainly in Africa (Botswana, Tanzania, South Africa, Ivory coast, Algeria, Mozambique) and meeting a lot of people and different cultures.

Your neighbourhood

Ravenna is a peaceful town of 200.000 inhabitants, and is a very ancient town, celebrated for its mosaics: she was the last capital of the Western Roman Empire during the fifth century and had important roles during the Byzantine period and the Venetian dominion.
At a short distance from Ravenna there are some noticeable towns, such as Venice (130 km. far), Florence (130 km.), Bologna (70 km.), and you can easily plan a day-trip to Piazza San Marco, to ride on “gondolas”, or have a visit to the “Galleria degli Uffizi museum”, to enjoy the masterpieces of Giotto, Botticelli, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci ...
If you are here in summertime you can enjoy the seaside, with many kilometres of sandy beaches and pinewood forest nearby, if you like peaceful spots, or cool discos on the beach, restaurants and street bars, if you prefer to have a night life; you can use our bicycles to move in town, as most of the local people do, or to ride along the beach.
