Our home

Our home is a recently renovated comfortable independent villa with garden at a few steps from the beach -right on the Riviera and nearby the centre of town (10 mins walk), inserted in a residential area. The house is on two floors with a wooden roof on top. There's a balcony joining the garden with a stair and a terrace on the main entrance. The kitchen is brand new, very functional, with an induction cooker and is fully equipped with electrical appliances and an electric oven. There is also a lovely fireplace in the sitting room. There's more than enough room for 4 people with two bathrooms, a double bedroom, two bedrooms with single beds, a spacious living and sitting room, a nice kitchen and a studio with a piano. The sofa in the studio transforms itself into a comfortable double bed.

Who we are

  1. Family description:
We're a couple in our fifties with two children: a boy aged 16 and a eight-year-old girl. I'm a teacher while my husband works as a sociologist. We love meeting new people and making friends around the world and particularly appreciate new cultures and lifestyles. We also like to explore new places and cuisines. We had six amazing swaps and enjoyed such nice experiences in Ireland, Danemark, London, Canada, Boston and Holland that we're looking forward to our next one. We believe it is an interesting way to travel and get a new life perspectives. We assure to treat your home as if it were ours and respect all the personal objects and belongings, since we perfectly understand all the efforts and the personal commitment -and the money!- we all put in making our house as comfortable and personalized as possible. We expect the same from our guests, too.
We would like to get to know our guests by exchanging emails first and talking some time on Skype before exchanging our houses.

  2. We would expect to arrange an exchange some way in advance in order to get to know our fellow exchangers via email first to see how best we can facilitate their stay in Italy and hopefully wish they would do the same for us.

  3. We love nature, outdoor sports activities and culture

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We are very close to the beach (3-minute walk) and to the main street stretching along the sea with some entertainment places full open in the summer. We are close to the town centre; the cycling path that connects the main places of our town and leads to a picturesque cycling tour along the coast is at a walking distance. Ours is a quiet residential area where everyone knows each other. You can also decide to enjoy a very picturesque sail by boat starting from our port in the evening before the sunset and have a drink meanwhile. There are some live concerts in the summer to appreciate: simple ones or even the Rossini Opera Festival and Fano Jazz Festival. Have a look at:
or try

The nearest airports are those of Rimini and Ancona, Bologna is at an easy reachable distance, too. There are some nice country villages around here to spend a lovely evening in the surrounding hills eating in lovely places and unwinding after a hot day at the beach.
There's a fun water park for children and teenagers in the nearby Riccione - AcquaFUN -Rimini is another famous tourist resort that it's worth a visit. Medieval castles on the nearby surrounding hills and a Unesco Renaissance town like Urbino cannot be missed. What else? We'd be glad to give further useful info if you need to.

Best restaurants
Fish restaurants, like La Baita or Cozza Amara is something you can’t miss- there are plenty of excellent pizzeria at five minutes walk like Il Geme , Farina or Donna Amala. Not to speak of ice cream shops...gelaterie are great around here. Gramsci is the best but you should try them all to decide by yourself...Juri, Arli
The most crowded trendy night bars are in Riccione at about 25km from here, but you can easily enjoy a drink at the well known Moloco looking at the sunset or at some of the very picturesque
Favourite cafés
Juri, D*Urso gelateria or El CID bar at the Palla di Pomodoro and many others
Where to go shopping
The closest Fashion outlets are in Cattolica, with Alberta Ferretti, Iceberg factory outlets to name some of them, San Marino and Rimini Le Befane Shopping Centre offer some others
Your area's cultural and historical landmarks
Urbino Renaissance town and palace is 45 minutes faraway from here, Fiorenzuola and Novilara are on the surrounding hills and worth a visit by night
Local walks
Walking along the beach so to relax early in the morning is something nourishing
Places you love to exercise
There’s a lovely bike route along the coast which stretches for 15 km where I like riding in the summer evenings before sunset
Top day trips
- Renaissance towns like Urbino and Florence , a unique and outstanding place like Venice - Bologna and Rome
