Our home

The apartment is located in a 1200 Medieval stone villa. The inside of the building is completely restored and the access to the home is through stairs up to the first floor (no elevator). At the entrance you find yourself in a bright living room with a davenport, Tv 30'', video recorder, dvd reader and ancient fornitures. On the left there is the large kitchen, entirely furnished and with a 4 places table, extensible to 8 and a stone fireplace. From the kitchen you can enjoy a brethtaking view through the window of the Panicale valley. In the diningroom is a stair that goes up to the second story and a long corridor to the bedrooms. The main one has a double bed, and the smaller one has a single bed. The main bathroom of the home is furnished with bathtube. On the second floor there is a bathroom with wide shower, a bedroom with a double bed and single bed and the laundry. The building has a nice garden, parking and garage and we have really nice Scottish neighbourhood who, if there, will be happy to welcome you!

Who we are

  1. We are a family of four. Giampaolo (66), Paola (58), Tommaso (23) and Michele (21). Giampaolo is a journalist for Vatican city and Paola is retired from the italian television, Rai.
Tommaso studies Intenational political sciences and Michele is in college too. We all love to travel and are willing to know people and coulture from abroad. We would expect to arrange an exchange some way in advance in order to get to know our fellow exchangers via email first to see how best we can facilitate their stay in Italy. This would be our first exchange, and we are really excited about it! Also it's possible to rent the house.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Panicale is a small medieval village on a hill. Most of the houses were built around year 1000 and its three churches are painted from the famous "Perugino" also called the "Divin Pittore" (divine painter). The hill where the town is placed, looks over the wonderful Trasimeno Lake (only 5 km away) and it gives a unique sightseeing. Panicale is very close to many other medieval towns where the Divin Pittore used to work. Perugia, the main city of Umbria, with its medieval downtown, is 29km away and is a very interesting place as it is full of galleries, churches, museums as well as good shopping. Assisi is 50km far (Saint Francis place of bith) and it's definitely worth a visit, as considered the best town in Umbria.
Distances from main towns and cities:
FIRENZE 129 km.
PISA 196 km.
ROMA 168 km.
MILANO 429 km.
PERUGIA 29 km.
In Panicale you can taste typical Italian and Umbian cooking in two very good restaurants and also by taking short trips to the sorroundings (Paciano, Città della Pieve, Castiglion del Lago, Tavernelle, Strozzacapponi and Perugia).
