Our home

This is our family holiday home, it is a semidetached apartment on the ground floor and is equipped with everything you need for a great holiday. It is very comfortable inside and has a very big veranda whit another kitchen that is very useful in spring and in summer. There is a large garden with a lot of typical Mediterranean essences (excellent to cook) and fruit trees and there are also two ancient buildings in stone (but only one is usable). It's an house no more far than 30 mt from searocks and 350 mt from beach.
In the exchange period it’s possible to have a car and also my vintage Vespa (1964) < my second wife >.
Also if all Salento is a place where in summer is really full of tourists, and especially in the sea-side, the home location is in a cul de sac so it is a little far from noise, so you can stay quiet even in summer.

Who we are

  1. I’m Andrea (35) and I’m a dentist, my wife Irene (30) is a training advocate, we have a son (really cute) Paolo (5). We would love to travel and try the experience of a home exchange.
We are optimistic that the people we exchange with would respect our home as we would theirs.
    We’d prefer a non-simultaneous exchange.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Salento is in the south-east of Italy and is a peninsula between two seas (Ionian and Adriatic). Our home is on the first one in S.Maria al Bagno a village (at only 7 km from Gallipoli) where you can find what you looking for… You could visit for a week different places and go swimming in different beaches and eat in different i.e. restaurants, pizzerias, or little bars on the beaches whitout to use a car, but only walking.
It’s clear that with a car you can visit better our land… All Salento is in plain so in some minutes you can visit all the most important towns and village on the coast (Gallipoli, S.Maria di Leuca, Castro, Otranto, etc.) or in the hinterland (Lecce, Nardò, Galatina, Galatone, Maglie, etc) where you can see monuments from Roman period to Liberty period (art nouveau) coming through medieval bell towers and castles, until the wonderful baroque art of the palaces and of the churches for which Lecce is the main city of baroque art in Italy after Firenze. There is an important handicrafts i.e. papier-mâché ('chewed-up paper') in Lecce, pottery in Cutrofiano, objects in Lecce-stone in a lot of village of Salento. The food and wines are excellent. In all the summer there are a lot of traditional folk festivals with music (pizzica) and gastronomy. The sun is very hot, the beaches and the searocks are always terrific (and often you have the possibility to do a lot of water-sports. Despite all the cost of the life is quite low… For more info visit: www.salentu.com
