Our home

I live in a charming Italian villa from the beginning of the 20 th century in the centre of a 1000 square-meter garden in the center of a village near Venice. The outside has not been restored, on the inside you will find tasty finish without sophisticated details. Keep in mind that it is a old house with some wrinkles...but the experience surrounded by green is outstanding, from springtime to fall you can basically live in the garden. Main bathroom to share (no privat one for guests). Furniture and kitchen equipment is basic, don't expect latest high-tech stuff! Unfortunately I don't have a lot of pictures, will try to update the site asap.

Who we are

  1. I am a 43-year old German-born single male living in Italy since 1992. Have been working for 16 years as an engineer in the motorcycle-industry in USA, Italy, Spain. Since 2009 I am working as a Motorcycle Freelance getting paid for riding bikes which is much better! I love the outdoors, travelling and hiking and speak fluently 5 languages (German, Italian, Spanish, English, French). As I am often on the move for work I would like to share the magnificent atmosphere of my old house with people who are not too picky...and would like to meet nice people with international and open culture. As a growing Freelance my time-schedules may vary suddenly, I do not mind having people around the house when I am home, simultaneous house-exchange is basically impossible for me, hosting is maybe the right description?

I will participate in the 2011 Dakar-Race in South America as a privateer on a motorcyle.
Therefore I would like to do a non-simultaneous exchange as follows: and 15.01-18.01.2011 Buenos Aires near "El Rural"-district
07-08.01.2011 Rest day in Arica, northern end of Chile

The house used to be the last one on the edge of the village 100 years ago facing the countryside. It is built in Liberty-style and positioned 300 meters away from the historic centre of the village of Mirano with strong night-life (bars and restaurants). Everything can be reached by feet within 5 minutes (shopping, food, newsstand, bars, restaurants...). The bus to Venice takes 30-40 minutes and leaves directly in front of my house. Airport distance appr. 25 km (40 Euros Taxi). Beaches 40 minutes away, Dolomites 1 hour. Great culture, museums, outdoors, food and wine!
