Our home

A spacious, sensitively furbished and well-maintained bright, spacious apartment. It features hardwood floors throughout, period features, including a working wood/coal fireplace, and large windows (and wooden shutters) that make the whole apartment light and airy. The sun hits the rear balcony in the mornings, and the front balcony in the afternoons and evenings. The neighbours are as quiet as mice (although we do have a concert pianist from La Scala opera house who, when he practices, makes things even more pleasant. The kitchen, despite its size, contains all that is required, and the jacuzzi/bath adds a touch of glamour. The nascent herb garden on the back balcony is there to be used, and, when there is a light breeze, suffuses the dining room with lovely aromas. At various times of the day, the two local churches like to let loose their bellringers, which can also be quite enchanting.

Who we are

  1. David and Alexandra are both teachers of Philosophy. David has lived in a variety of places, including Spain, Greece, Lebanon, Jordan, Finland and, now, Italy. We love travelling (of course), and we both like nothing better than sitting in a cafe somewhere new and watching the world go by...until it is time for aperitivo of course! As someone wise once said, "the hours between coffee and wine are wasted hours"!

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

In front of the apartment are two, large green areas. In one, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, there is a bustling street market (but since there are many trees, and it is a minutes' walk away, there is no noise). We are two minutes' walk away from the shopping street Corso Buenos Aires and, from there, you can take the 'Lima' metro station which is just 4 stops away from the famous 'Duomo' (cathedral), the Galeria Vittorio Emanuele, and the bustling downtown of Milan. The large 'Indro Montanelli' park is just a five minute walk away on one side, and, on the other the 'Centrale' railway station is only 5 minutes away. Without having to go very far at all, there is a selection of restaurants, bistros, cafes and bars to suit every taste.
