Our home

A beautiful oasis in an authentic Italian village! Visit Positano, Amalfi, Sorrento, Capri, Pompeii, and more. Enjoy the best Italian food, lifestyle & hospitality!

My Italian partner and I (Australian) run a guest house set in a villa in the town centre of the picturesque village of Sant Agata sui Due Golfi. Charming and authentic, the village is nestled in the hills above Sorrento, close to Positano and the Amalfi Coast, and perfect for visiting Capri, Ischia, Naples, Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius, along with the local walking paths, hiking trails and beaches.

We have a superior one bedroom apartment (normally available for rent as part of the guesthouse) to offer for exchange in certain parts of the year. Located within the old courtyard of our recently renovated manor house dating back to 1700, it is 50mq (540sf) in size, and has a double bedroom with a queen size bed, bathroom, living room with a double sofa bed, a fully equipped open kitchen and a private courtyard of about 10mq (110sf). It has been recently renovated and decorated with good taste and modern comforts. The apartment is equipped with A/C, satellite TV, wifi, washing machine, dish-washer, private parking. Very popular and highly rated by previous guests, it is typically fully booked over the European summer months, and we work hard onsite to ensure our guests have a wonderful holiday.

Guests have access to the external common space, which includes the house courtyard always adorned with beautiful flowers and a large terrace of about 50mq (540sf), where it is possible to have breakfast, lunch, dinner, organize BBQs, or simply relax and sun-bathe while reading on a beach chair. We have agreements with nearby hotels for the use of swimming pools and of course the sea is not far away with many beach restaurants and cafes, the perfect place for lunch.

We are primarily looking for an exchange in my home city, Sydney, over the European winter months (Nov - March), since we need to be on-site looking after guests at other times. We will try to be as flexible as possible around dates for exchange, and exchanges needn't be simultaneous, but please note that this is a very popular area for tourists from April to October, and as we are a popular family-run guesthouse, we are typically fully booked/only available for rental in high season.

Who we are

  1. We are an outgoing couple, he is Italian and I am Australian, and we love running the guesthouse as much as we love to travel! We're most happy by the water, exploring the outdoors, and he is a great cook. We are extremely house proud and we know what it takes to keep a place looking its absolute best - we take pride in it! We will treat your home with the same love and care as we do our own. We are neat and tidy, clean and respectful. We are primarily looking for an exchange in my home city, Sydney, over the European winter months (Nov - March). We have done a number of exchanges so far and it is a wonderful experience!

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our guesthouse is located in the centre of Sant'Agata Sui Due Golfi, a picturesque and friendly little village that still preserves the beauty and warmth of a past and simpler life. It is nestled between Sorrento and Positano on the hills over the Amalfi Coast, and gets its name (Sant'Agata on top of two gulfs) because it overlooks from above both the gulf of Naples and that of Salerno.
The house is a short stroll to several family-run restaurants, gelaterias, fresh pasta shops, fruit and vegetable stores, mini-markets, bakeries, butchers and fish-shops, coffee bars, pubs and other small shops for all needs. Prices here are still reasonable, much lower than those of Sorrento, Capri or Positano. Our hill top location, 400 meters above sea level with a pleasant summer climate, is ideal for a good rest after a day spent at the beach or exploring the area.
The town is easily reachable by car, bus or train, and is perfectly suited for exploring the many beautiful sights and towns in the surrounding area. We are 50 metres from a bus stop to Sorrento, which takes about 25 minutes (15 minutes by car); there is a bus from Sant’Agata to Sorrento every 45-60 minutes. From Sorrento it’s possible to go to Pompeii and Naples by train, or take the hydrofoil to Capri, Ischia, Naples, Positano and Amalfi.
A bus from Sorrento to Naples airport is available every hour or two throughout the day. We are also about 300 metres from the bus stop to board the Amalfi Coast bus which stops in Positano, Praiano, Conca dei Marini (Emerald grotto) Amalfi. Sightseeing buses also run through the village.
We can help you organize boat trips along the Amalfi Coast and to Capri (the best way to see the coast!), or guided tours with a private car to Mt Vesuvius and Pompeii’s old city. There are also local tours to a Limoncello or Mozzarella factory, olive groves and vineyards. There are scuba diving centres and fishing trips, plus very extensive hiking trails all around us.
And for the food lovers, you will not be disappointed. We offer first class cooking lessons, and we have excellent Michelin starred restaurants nearby, one right around the corner!
In short, it's the perfect base for a fantastic trip.
