Our home

Hi dear friends, we are new to HomeforExchange but we have already swapped several times using other sites.
Please note that we have holiday only at Christmas and in August, so if you wish to come in other dates the exchange will have to be non simultaneous.
In the family there is (unfortunately) a severe allergy to cats.

We are a family of 4, our children are aged 13 and 16. We are experienced travellers and we offer for exchange our second home on the hills above Iseo Lake in Northern Italy.

As a description of our place, we have been writing for years that our lake was unknown even to italian mass tourism. Then in July 2016 there was Christo's "Floating Piers" and everything changed. For 3 weeks the world got to know our hidden gem, and now we are the very famous Iseo Lake of Christo's Floating Piers!

Monte Isola, the island in the middle of the lake, has reached the 3rd place as European Best Destination 2019" (we are all very proud for this result).

However do not worry, the area is still unspoilt and the touristic offer is still not made "only" for tourists, but for locals as well.

*********The house is in the historical centre of the village and it has no direct access by car. There is plenty of parking places nearby, all free of charges. You will have to walk 150 metres from the parking (two minutes).

There are stairs and a pebble street to get to the house, and the house itself is on three floors (spiral staircase), therefore it is unfortunately not suitable for wheel chairs.****************
Our house dates back to the beginning of 1600, but don't panic, it was completely restored.

It is on three floors:
- at the ground floor there is the kitchen which opens on a small garden. There is a porch with a table where we usually eat outside;
- at the first floor there is a bedroom and a bathroom;
- at the second floor there is the master bedroom, another small bedroom (bunk bed) and the bathroom.

For relaxing outside, we have a hammock, deck chairs and barbecue. And the view on the lake and the mountains, of course.

Who we are

  1. Open August 2020. You are welcome here any time you wish but, from our side, we can travel in August only.

    We are a family of 4. Our children are aged 14 and 16, they go to the secondary school and they study foreign languages and sciences respectively.
    Fabio is fond of motorcycles, Cristina of reading. We run our own company.

  2. We are experienced home exchangers and we did more than 30 happy exchanges with another site.

  3. Cristina has a severe allergy to cats, sorry we cannot exchange with home where these wonderful animals live inside. Outside is fine, and by the way we all love cats very much

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

The village is called Fonteno and it is in the province of Bergamo. It is also defined "the lake's balcony" because it offers unforgettable views on the lake. It has two food shops, two cafès, the post office, three playgrounds for children, two restaurants and one rural restaurant in a farm. The village is extremely quiet and is very happily located, being exactly 7 km from Iseo Lake and 7 km from Endine Lake. On both lakes you can find touristic villages and activities, restaurants, cafès, you can go fishing, rent a pedal boat, or windsurfing, sailing,or relax on the small beaches.

We do also have a giant bench! If you search "panchina gigante Fonteno", it is a charming installation belonging to the artistic movement "Big Bench Community Project".
