Our home

This newly- renovated old stone Tuscan country house (160 sq. meters or about 1700 sq. ft.) is in the southern most province of Tuscany near the sea. It is a 20 minute drive from the nearest broad, white sand beaches on the Mediterranean. The house has two floors. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, a bathroom (with large tub and shower) and a library with french doors leading to an upstairs terrace. The ground floor has a large kitchen with dishwasher, and all new appliances, a large living room with fireplace and another bathroom with shower. There is also a utility room with washing machine and dryer. Heating and hot water are produced from solar panels on the roof. The floors throughout the house are very old terra cotta tiles and the ceilings in most of the rooms are made of old original beams and terra cotta. The house sits on the crest of a hill facing the coastline and you can see the Mediterranean and the Island of Elba from the property and all the upstairs windows. Apart from the house, the property consists of over 6 acres (2.5 hectares) much of it covered with olive trees. There are many fruit trees, grape vines and flower beds around the house and an outside terrace with wood burning pizza/bread oven and grill. There is also a bocce field and swing with full views of the panorama.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

The surrounding area is filled with Etruscan and Roman ruins, medieval hill villages, hot thermal springs and great food and beaches, as well as great hiking trails both in the mountains and along the shore, where there is one of the best National Parks and Bird Sanctuaries in Italy. I've come to think of it as being the closet thing to paradise that I've ever seen.
