Our home

Antique country house situated in an ample garden of olive trees and vineyards.
This traditional style house is constructed groundfloor and has a covered terrace in front overlooking the vineyards.
The big entrance door leads into a spacious living and dining room, complete with sofa(double bed sofa), TV, fireplace and a big dining table. Kitchen with big fridge and gas stove. Bathroom with tub and WC, bidet. Main bedroom with double bed and dresser, small bedroom with single bed and small wardrobe.
We use this house as a country get-away for vacations and weekends, we love hearing the sounds of the nature and relaxing under an olive tree, while being at a short distance from the town center.

(See googlemaps 40.526184,17.616165 for the position of the house).

Who we are

  1. We are a young couple, Alessandro and Ana. Alessandro is native in this area, I am originally from Austria but we have lived for the last years in Milan.
We are both working in the creative industry and we love travelling and experiencing different cultures and countries. We are freelancers and are pretty flexible, however we are looking mainly for exchanges in Australia for december and january 2012. We'd particularly love to go to Tasmania, Melbourne and New Zealand. We are also interested in oing to London and Paris in the future.

We are both respectful of other people's homes and habits and hope you will be likewise.
We are new exchangers but in our family some exchanges have already taken place and inspired us to follow their successful example.

We can certainly provide lots of information and general support to ensure you have a great time in Puglia, there is lots to see from small charming towns to great nature.

Your neighbourhood

The house is situated in the countryside at about 1 km distance from the town center of Francavilla Fontana (a small town with about 45.000 inhabitants with a charismatic, antique town center with shops, supermarkets, small shops selling fruit and local products, restaurants and some nice bars on the main square).

In 20 minutes car-drive you can find our preferred beach on the Ionian sea, with lots of white fine sand and turquoise-coloured, clean water. Along the Ionian and the Adriatic sea there are lots of different beautiful beaches to discover. Our house is situated at the center between the Adriatic and the Ionian sea, so anyone fond of changing and discovering different places is at a convenient distance for various excursions.

Puglia is full of beautiful places and small towns to discover.....close-by you can visit the charming all-white Ostuni, which has a tempting nightlife, the harbour town Brindisi, the "Florence of the south" Lecce, with its stunning white baroque churches and palazzi and many smaller towns in the country-side that are worth discovering.

Close-by airports are Brindisi (30km/25 minutes drive) and Bari (90 km/ 1 hour drive). Both airports are well connected to airports of Rome and Milan. I you arrive in Rome you can catch a train to Taranto or Brindisi.
