Our home

Very peaceful summer country house in Tuscany. Three bedrooms (sleeps 7), kitchen with fireplace, living room, ample and well-equipped garden. Available from June to September (available also in May and October, but it might be cold).

Property features

Who we are

  1. We are Ilaria and Simone, a married couple with one small child (Virginia, age 2), usually traveling with Ilaria's brother, Ugo (a university researcher in Italy). We are both university professors in the States and enjoy the sun and the beaches when able to get away during winter time (between the Fall and the Spring Semester, i.e. in January). We are looking for people who could let us use their house in January, while using our place in Italy during the summer time (Italy is too cold in winter and our place has no heating). We are usually in Italy during the summer time, so we can show you around if you'd like. In addition to our house in the country, you could also stay in Ugo's apartment in Florence.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

The property is between the provinces of Livorno and Pisa, located close (less than 10 miles) to the shore (sand beaches or rocks: Vada and Castiglioncello are the most famous spots, but there are others). A convenient starting point for daily trips to major art cities: Florence, Pisa, Lucca, Siena. Pisa and Lucca are 45 minute drive away, Florence a little more than one hour, Siena about two hours. There are four very nice medieval villages fifteen/twenty minutes away (good wine, very good cuisine): Montescudaio, Guardistallo, Casale, Bolgheri.
